Sculptra™ "the liquid face lift"
Used for "filling faces" can be injected into the cheeks, around the mouth and into the temple areas. Known as New-Fill in Europe. It was approved for use in the USA in August 2004. It is synthetic poly-L-lactic acid (sugar) that stimulates new collagen production, and lasts 2 years. More expected on this in the media soon.
Botox ®
Used to treat wrinkles due to muscle movements, injections of small amounts of Botox® into carefully chosen sites produces relaxation and stops the movement temporarily of targeted muscles producing smoother skin. Can be done to the frown area between eyes, the Crow's feet, to raise eyebrows, and many other creative uses. Dr. Klein is a recognized expert (National Educational Faculty) in treating patients with Botox®.
Radiesse™/Collagen/Restylane®/Juvederm™
Radiesse™ received its FDA Approval for nasolabial fold and cheek filling in December 2006! It is calcium hydroxyapatite that has been created synthetically. It can be used to immediately fill the nasolabial fold and marionnette lines, and lasts approximately 1 year. It gives an immediate result, and adds a whole new dimension to what we can accomplish in filling the cheeks in the face.
I have long used Zyplast® collagen as a wrinkle filler, and occasionally still do. It is truly a "wash and wear" convenient wrinkle and lip filling treatment. Since it is bovine, and lasts only 3 months, it is not as popular as the other choices now.
In 2004, the FDA approved the use of Restylane® in the USA. It is non-allergenic and non-animal derived. It lastsapproximately 6 months. For those patients who have had collagen before, Restylane is more painful with more redness and swelling, which subsides in 24-48 hours. We routinely perform the dental block before doing the lip area, and have a post-treatment plan to minimize the discomfort. In addition, we suggest the use of Ativan (Lorazepam) before hand for those patients who are anxious about the procedure.
JUVEDERM™ IS HERE!!! and I love it so much more than Restylane! It is hyaluronic acid and is distributed by Allergan, the same company that has Botox®. It is expected to last 9-12 months. I love it because it is a smoother product than Restylane and looks so much better. We are using Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus.

MICRODERMABRASION
The brand of our equipment is called the "Ultra Peel".
Microdermabrasion is a gentle treatment using small crystals and a gentle vacuum to deeply cleanse and exfoliate the skin. It helps to smooth the skin, reduce pigment irregularites and improve the appearance of fine wrinkles. Hands may also be done.

Refinity Peel (70% AHA)
Also known as AHA or an alpha hydroxy acid peel, these are gentle peels used for removing the superficial dead layer of cells on the surface of the skin.
Done repetitively, such as every two weeks, these are helpful for treating pigmentary problems, acne, and fine wrinkles. They enhance the topical antiaging treatments by allowing them to reach the target dermis more easily.

Jessner's Peel with or without 10%, 25%, 35% TCA
Our Jessner's and TCA are slightly stronger peels. The results are more dramatic. The value of this procedure compares to expensive Fraxel and nonablative laser treatments, but at a much more reasonable price. There is seven days of downtime, but you will be rewarded with maximum spot removal and much smoother skin!
A consultation visit is recommended prior to scheduling this type of peel. The pre and post instructions are very important.

Sclerotherapy
Using a very small needle and 1 of 3 solutions, leg spider veins can be treated to help them fade away. This procedure is performed by my experienced Nurse Practitioner, Janice Chussil. The cost is $300 for a 30 minute treatment session.
Tumescent Liposuction - abdomen, thighs, arms, hips, love handles
Performed in the true sense, using only local anesthetic and oral sedation, is a very safe surgery (100% safe - zero deaths) and is different from what is typically shown on TV as what the plastic surgeons are doing. The patients who benefit from this surgery are the ones who would not benefit from losing weight. They tend to have a very localized area of fat that tends to be genetic, and is resistant to weight loss. Anyone with a history of bleeding disorders, liver disease, heart disease, or kidney disease is not a candidate.
I have been performing this procedure since 1998. I am very proud of my results, and show before and after pictures at the consultation. Touch-ups have been requested in less than 1% of cases. Procedure cost is typically between $3,000 and $5,000. It includes postop visits, surgery, OR room, and garment/dressings.
Recovery is very fast: walk 3 miles the day after surgery, and back to work on post op day 4. Initial result can be seen immediately, but the complete healing time is typically 4 months to reach the final result and tightening of the skin.
Structural Autologous Fat Enhancement (S.A.F.E.) - fat grafting/filling
This procedure takes fat from the hip or outer thigh area in a mini-liposuction procedure, then we freeze it, to add it back to the face in several sessions. The result is a natural youthful look. Patients who smoke are not candidates. The fat can be stored frozen for up to 1 year. It has more recuperation time than Sculptra™ does.
